In todays video / blog post I'll be covering how to process color negative / color slide film at home.

C41 (Color Negative) and E6 (Color Slide) are very similar in how they are mixed. One difference is that C41 is processed at 102 degrees and E6 is at 104 degrees. Another difference is that Color slide film requires two different development stages before your bleach-fixer (commonly referred to as Blix). If you can process black and white film, you can handle either of these developments.

One big challenge people come upon is how to heat your chemicals. I used to make a warm bath of water using an electronic tea kettle and putting the bottles into that warm bath. I've since upgraded to a "Sous-Vide" cooking device. These cookers work electonically by heating a bath of water to a specified temperature.

I use Arista C41 and E6 chemicals which can be bought at www.freestylephoto.biz and other suppliers. Cinestill and other companies make color development kits that are exactly the same and some are a little different... I can only speak to my experience with this one brand of chemistry, but the actual development stages should be roughly the same.
